What is the format of the CAF Confederation Cup?
The CAF Confederation Cup is played on a knockout basis, with the winner qualifying for the CAF Super Cup.
The competition is divided into two stages:
- Group stage: The 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams each. The teams in each group play each other home and away, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the knockout stage.
- Knockout stage: The 28 teams that advance from the group stage will be seeded into a knockout draw. The knockout stage consists of a round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final.
